I'm an American but Am I Proud?
I'm watching TV... my brain needs a good washing. So I'm watching COPS while reading the BBC news and I found this article>>>Supermax Solution: The Challenges facing US jails- The World's Biggest Prison System
"Built in 1994 at a cost of about $190m, the Supermax in Florence is said to be equipped with 1,400 remote-controlled steel doors, motion detectors, pressure pads and gun towers with perfect sightlines across the complex."
For those of you that do not wish to read this let me explain that Supermax is a prison for a new world. A world that does not seek to "rehabilitate" criminals but one that wishes to lock them away and in the process waste our tax money. (Do you have health care, cause I don't?!) The people locked in Supermax are the products of our society. (No shit, right?)
If America has the largest prison system in the world and America is the biggest capitalist nation in the world... what does that say about capitalism? What does that say about America??
Did you know that China has 2-3 times the population that America does but America has more people in prison and more prisons than China?
We have more people in prison than the former Soviet Union.
